About Us

Joanne Irving, Ph.D.Joanne Irving, Ph.D is a founding partner and principal of The Chrysalis Group, Inc. Her approach to individual and organizational development has evolved from over two decades of working with individuals to enhance their performance and satisfaction at work and home. Clients come from a wide variety of industries as well as professional service firms and national associations. Dr. Irving’s typical engagements include advisor to the chief executive, key leaders and managers; derailment prevention with valued but underperforming contributors; and pre-promotion/succession planning. When working with an entire organization, Dr. Irving’s typical engagement focuses on visioning and cultural transformation using an array of tools and processes such as organizational audits and CTT cultural assessments.

Dr. Irving has a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Tufts University where she graduated summa cum laude. She obtained her PhD in psychology from the University of Maryland in 1983. Dr. Irving has also conducted research in the areas of service delivery systems, consumer satisfaction, program evaluation, and organizational culture analysis. In addition, she has developed and directed programs for mental health service delivery systems and managed county program contracts for over 22 years. A certified Action Learning Coach, Dr. Irving sits on the Board of Directors of the World Institute for Action Learning. A certified Cultural Transformational Tools consultant and Action Learning coach, Dr. Irving is also certified in the Hogan Assessment tools for executive selection and development. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, the International Coaching Federation, and the Society for the Advancement of Consulting.

Jude Marston, LCSW-CJude Marston, LCSW-C is a founding partner and principal of The Chrysalis Group, Inc. For nearly 25 years, she has helped individuals, teams and organizations surmount interpersonal and business obstacles to prosper in alignment with their mission and values. Jude consults with work groups in conflict resolution and team development, coaches individuals in professional and personal growth, and assists organizations in understanding their corporate culture. Her style offers a fresh and dynamic approach to those who want to transform insight into action and strategy into peak results.

Jude integrates her finely tuned clinical skills with her knowledge gained through two decades of experience at Booz·Allen & Hamilton, an international consulting firm, where Jude trained executives, managed teams, led projects, and supported business development efforts. Her entrepreneurial background includes founding and leading a successful business communications and marketing company in the DC area. Jude is a licensed clinician, a certified Enneagram Teacher in the Narrative Tradition, and a certified Cultural Transformational Tools® consultant. She is also certified to administer the suite of Hogan Assessment tools for selecting and developing key talent and for evaluating leadership potential. Jude is a member of the International Coaching Federation and Greater Washington Clinical Social Work Society. She earned a BA and a BS from George Mason University, and a graduate degree from The Catholic University of America, where she currently is a part-time faculty member at the NCSSS graduate program.

Jen SetianJenise Setian is a specialized business development consultant and capture strategist for companies targeting Federal contract vehicles that focus on human resource management and training solutions. With 35 years of experience in Government entrepreneurial programs, this former "Fed" helps firms of all sizes effectively align their corporate capabilities with the demands of the Federal marketplace. Jenise understands the risk and expense of pursuing contract vehicles without critical market, competitor, and client intelligence during the planning stage. Using her extensive network of industry contacts, she can provide timely and relevant data points.

Prior to joining the Chrysalis Team, Jenise served as Manager of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management's (OPM's) Training and Management Assistance (TMA) program for seven years. She administered a contract vehicle that provided customized learning and human capital solutions to Federal agencies through more than 30 pre-qualified, prime contractors and hundreds of teaming partners. By creating a value proposition and performance metrics that were client driven and fostered collaboration among public-private sector stakeholders, Jenise transformed a floundering contract vehicle into a thriving community of partners.

In recognition of TMA's accomplishments, Jenise received the 2008 OPM Director's Award for Leadership, the 2007 Gov-Con Public Sector Partner of the Year Award, and was a finalist in the 2007 Women in Technology's Government Leadership Awards.

Jenise graduated with Distinction from the University of Virginia in its first class of women. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in French and Spanish.

John Marston, Ph.D.John Marston, Ph.D.
Dr. Marston is a consultant, educator, and facilitator with over 30 years of professional experience. He applies insights from action learning, vocational renewal, and advocacy to help clients solve complex problems, manage conflicts, and reach new levels of understanding. For the past 15 years, John has been an adjunct professor for graduate programs at the University of Virginia, the George Washington University, and currently with the Johns Hopkins University. He has presented at a broad range of conferences and led professional development workshops in vocational renewal and various topics in the education field. John has advanced training in mediation and restorative justice and cognitive coaching. His experience spans both public and private institutions as a special education principal and teacher, and as an Administrator of Alternative School Programs and Character Education with the Fairfax County Public Schools. Dr. Marston is a facilitator with the Center for Courage and Renewal, known for Courage to Teach® and Circles of Trust®, and holds an Action Learning Certificate.

Pascale Brady Is a business coach and consultant with 25 years of professional experience both in the corporate world and as an entrepreneur. Pascale guides executives and managers individually or as part of groups or teams to successfully master their challenges and effectively resolve problems. In her work, she draws upon The Coaches Training Institute's (CTI) Co-Active model of coaching, Relationship Systems Coaching, Adlerian Psychology, Positive Psychology, and Imago Theory to encourage courageous growth, respectful communication, and meaningful conversations. With a keen awareness of each client's bottom line, Pascale draws upon vast corporate experience to productively lead executives and managers to realize better performance. Her unique style of coaching – fearless, energetic, and enthusiastic – is wrapped in deep human compassion, which has helped more than 100 clients plow through obstacles to achieve desired results.

After 12 years in the corporate world as an international sales and marketing executive, Pascale attained certification in 2005 as a Co-Active Certified Coach by CTI, and in 2006 as an Accredited Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation. As a consultant coach and National Liaison Officer for NET EXPAT, a European leader in expat services, she coaches global employees and their spouses toward successful integration with their new culture and surroundings.
